I have wished this guy a happy birthday for the past 12 years (mostly) without fail (because our birthdays are 3 days apart) but I missed it this year due to travel. He is infuriatingly off-the-grid. No Facebook, Twitter, etc. So I am posting his gift on my blog and hoping the message somehow reaches his yurt in the wilderness.

It is not Friday, and yet I felt compelled to bring you this super sweet super hero comic.
JL8 is a beautifully made and hilarious little jem of a comic made by animator and independent comic book artist Yale Stewart. My cousin (currently living in Nicaragua) sent me the link for my daughter to enjoy. Truthfully, my grown husband and I have been delighting in the DC comic references while my four year old kid rolls her tiny eyes.
JL8 is nominated for "Best Webcomic of 2012 on IGN.
